The Olav Thon Group’s sustainability strategy

With a large company comes great responsibility. The Olav Thon Group has several thousand employees, tenants, customers, guests and suppliers. This makes it important for us to work with concrete sustainability initiatives, set a good example and set ambitious goals for the future.

The sustainability strategy is based on three pillars

To clarify the level of ambition and further increase the group’s efforts, our sustainability strategy has three main pillars. Under each pillar, we have drawn up long-term ambitions and several sub-goals to achieve these.

Our goals include

Reach zero emissions by 2050
Become at least 70% circular by 2030
Introduce nature-positive solutions – especially for property development

In the long term, we will also have full insight into the value chain, as well as representative management with an even gender distribution.

Climate and nature

Our operations must have as little negative impact on the climate and nature as possible. That’s why we’ve set ourselves ambitious goals for a greener future.

Status of sustainability work

By 2030, we will reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 60%. This is the status as of 2023 on a selection of important points. The figures are updated annually in the first quarter.

Through our affiliation with the UN Global Compact, we have been working strategically since 2013 to contribute to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We have selected nine goals that our businesses can contribute most to. Every year, we report on our progress in the sustainability report.
