Delighted with new apartment at Strømmen Verksted
Bente Gustavsen was one of the first to find her dream home at Strømmen Verksted. In March 2023, she and her son moved into their brand-new three-room apartment.
"We now live in the heart of the action, within walking distance of schools, railway station, bus and shops, and close to the E18 motorway. The location is perfect for us!"
"It has everything I could possibly want"
Since Bente bought her apartment early in the sales process, she had the opportunity to decide much of the details of the interior. She says she knew exactly what she wanted and therefore took advantage of a number of options and possibilities.
"The basic package itself was very nice, but I upgraded the interior design and appliances in the Norema kitchen. To add a personal touch to the apartment, I also chose specific flooring and doors, as well as colours from Jotun’s colour chart."
The apartment, which is 86 m2 in size, has a good layout and is located on the third floor.
"The kitchen was what I liked most about the apartment. I also like the fact that the living room and kitchen are separate. We eat dinner in the kitchen on weekdays and in the living room on weekends. We also have two balconies with lots of sun," says Bente.
Lower energy and housing costs
Bente and her son used to live in a smaller, older apartment. With an electric car and high electricity costs during winter, Bente notices a huge difference in her expenses after moving to Strømmen Verksted.
"I use a lot less electricity now than I did in our old apartment, which was 30 square metres smaller." The new apartment is highly energy-efficient and this is reflected in the electricity bill.
She simply charges her electric car in her parking spot in the underground car park.
“It’s fantastic to be able to take the lift straight up to the apartment and not have to remove snow and ice from the car during winter,” she says.

Strømmen: Everything you need in one place
Five minutes to Lillestrøm and Lørenskog. Around 30 minutes to Gardermoen in one direction and just under 20 minutes by car to Oslo in the other.
Strømmen is perfect for those who want to live centrally, but not in the middle of the city.
The Sagelva River runs through the industrial area of Strømmen, which has a long history of timber floating and sawmills. Along the river is a 1.7 kilometre long walking path called Sagstien, perfect for both strolling and running. Bråteskogen is also located close to Strømmen Verksted, with fantastic recreational possibilities both summer and winter.
Strømmen also has a wide range of cultural and other activities, including its own cultural centre, library, bowling alley, cinema, Strømmen Stadium and Slora sports park nearby.
"Strømmen Verksted is the perfect location, with everything you need! We can spend out entire lives here," says Bente with a smile.
