Live in a green yet urban neighbourhood along the picturesque Sagelva River in Strømmen

Strømmen is an urban centre in the municipality of Lillestrøm and part of Greater Oslo.

Sagelva has made Strømmen an attractive place to live for hundreds of years, but in more recent times, timber floating and heavy industry have been replaced by a modern-day community with everything you need.

In Strømmen, you will find woods, fields and walking paths right outside the front door, yet Oslo is only a 20-minute drive away. Here you can enjoy green surroundings without sacrificing the urban conveniences of the city.

Live the dream

'Strømmen is the dream' is a popular local motto and it’s easy to understand why: Strømmen is a safe, charming and attractive place to live for children and adults, close to cafés, restaurants and shops.

At the heart of Strømmen is the Strømmen Verksted housing development project, built on the site of the old Strømmen Værksted, where the country’s first metro cars were produced.

Today, the area is buzzing with activity and thanks to its central location, beautiful views, good meeting places and sunny surroundings, it has become a very popular place to live.
