'Young Leader of the Year,' 'Tourism Industry Leader of the Year' and 'Open Class – Good Thinking'
Svetlana Stock, hotel director of Thon Hotel Alta, won the award for 'Young Leader of the Year'. Thon Hotels’ marketing division won two awards, both the 'Tourism Industry Leader of the Year' and 'Open Class – Good Thinking'.
The awards were in response to such campaigns as 'Colourful Friday', which has now become an annual tradition and a counterreaction to Black Friday. The awards were accepted by Andrea Mohus, marketing manager, and Henriette Mikkelsen, brand manager.
Thon Hotels takes a structured approach to sustainability
Thon Hotels also won the 'Sustainability Award of the Year'. Group director Morten Thorvaldsen, together with operations coordinator Kari-Lise Lind and director of revenue management Kjetil Smette, accepted the award.
Thon Hotels works diligently to help create a greener tourism industry by working in a more insight-based way and by basing its sustainability efforts on the structured reporting of data on the hotel, company and group level.
Morten Thorvaldsen received an honorary award
Last but not least, group director Morten Thorvaldsen received the 'Honorary Award of the Year' for his years of efforts and wide range of tourism initiatives both in Norway and internationally.
"I am incredibly proud that Thon Hotels has won all these fantastic awards. All the nominations and awards are the ultimate recognition by the hotel and tourismindustry that our team efforts produce results that get noticed. I wish to thank each and every one of you," said Thorvaldsen after receiving the honour.
Two nominations
Hotel director of Thon Hotel Opera Marthe Sæther and team leader of the Thon Hotel customer centre Nina Fossum Andreassen were also nominated in the categories 'Hotelier of the Year' and 'Yount Talent of the Year'.
