Resthon – restaurants with a focus on quality

Resthon was founded in 1965 and is part of the Olav Thon Group. The company operates over a dozen entertainment, restaurant, pub and nightlife venues in Oslo, Ålesund, Bergen and Lørenskog that offer a wide variety of food, drinks and entertainment, with a focus on quality.

Resthon offers a number of meeting, reception and event venues for hire, whether you are organising a company party, conference, kick-off, Christmas party or any other type of event.

You can rent an entire venue or a private room, and we can host both large and small parties for up to 600 guests. We tailor it to your needs, and all types of events can be combined with food or snacks.

We own and operate several of the capital’s well-known and beloved pubs. Both The Scotsman, Sir Winston, Dr. Jekyll’s and Den Gamle Major are all run by Resthon.

We believe Thon Hotels is best in breakfast, but that doesn't mean we’re bad at lunch or dinner. Quite the opposite!  

In recent years, we have sharpened our focus on our hotel restaurants in order to create more vibrant locations and offer our guests a holistic, attractive and high-quality dining experience.

We have around 20 of our own concept restaurants spread across the country, where the focus is on locally produced food of excellent quality.

What makes us unique is that the restaurant concepts are developed specifically for each hotel and adapted to the location and target group, unlike typical chain restaurants. Among other things, this means that Bristol Grill is synonymous with classic elegance, while Brasseriet at Thon Hotel Storo, for example, is a typical neighbourhood restaurant designed for sharing good food and drinks with friends and family.

Thon Hotels also invests in skills development and collaboration with excellent chefs, who ensure the very highest quality results. Among others, we have Bocuse d'Or silver winner Filip August Bendi on the team!
