Facts and figures about Tromsø
Tromsø is home to the world’s northernmost brewery - Mack - which was established in the city in 1877. Today, the brewery itself is located in Nordkjosbotn in the municipality of Balsfjord, around 70 kilometres from Tromsø, while the administrative offices and a microbrewery are still located at the old brewery site in the centre of Tromsø.

Public transportation
Tromsø has good public transportation, with buses, speedboats/ferries and air routes.

Tromsø is also connected to various destinations along the Norwegian coast via Hurtigruten and Tromsø Airport operates direct flights to Oslo and many major European cities.
