A beautiful city in quiet surroundings
One of the greatest advantages of Moss is its location. Moss is also the perfect place to call home if you commute to work in Oslo or the Oslo area. The new railway line will open in 2024, allowing you to take the train to Oslo up to 8 times an hour in under 30 minutes. In addition to being a short drive to the capital, Moss is also close to picturesque coastal landscapes.
Both woods and beautiful lakes are located close to the centre of Moss. Walking or skiing in the woods is just as easy as finding a beautiful beach or island that is perfect for relaxing. One of the things Moss residents appreciate most is the quiet and tranquil life that is possible in the rural surroundings, combined with a vibrant city centre that is just the right size.
Voted 'City Centre of the Year'
In recent years, Moss has really shown what the city and municipality have to offer. In 2019, the Moss city centre was named 'City Centre of the Year'. Moss has gone from being an industrial city for many years to a more urban and vibrant city. New, exciting projects are in full swing and will result in new housing, commercial areas, services and other new concepts with a focus on culture and experiences.
A newly renovated cultural centre, major cultural events, an outdoor cinema, concerts and several city festivals are only a few of the many aspects that make the city centre of Moss and its cultural scene a success story. This fjordside city is also developing several blue flag beaches, guest harbours and boardwalks along the fjord.
Investing in sustainability
It’s not only the business and cultural sectors that are a major focus in Moss. The Moss Environmental Promise is a large-scale prestige project in which several major stakeholders are working together to develop Moss into a greener and more sustainable city. This will benefit everyone living in the centre of Moss, with enhanced public transportation and more bicycle and pedestrian paths.
New apartments in the heart of the city
As part of the development of the city centre, we are building attractive new apartments in the heart of Moss. The Dronningkvartalet housing development project will include everything from space-efficient one-room apartments to spacious four-room apartments. Each home will have a balcony, patio and parking spot in the underground car park. The new Amfi Moss shopping centre and pedestrian street will be a stone's throw away, as well as a beautiful, green and car-free park area. Dronningkvartalet will help shape the cityscape and give the neighbourhood an aesthetic boost.
