Largest shopping centre in Norway for four consecutive years
Since 2020, Lagunen Storsenter has had statistically high turnover, making it Norway's largest shopping centre.
In 2023, this Thon centre achieved a turnover of close to NOK 4.3 billion, beating the previous year's record, when it became the first Norwegian centre with a turnover of over NOK 4 billion.
Lagunen increased its turnover by 5.7% compared to the previous year.
Eight out of the ten largest is a Thon centre
Strømmen Storsenter (NOK 3.8 billion) and Sandvika Storsenter (NOK 3.7 billion) followed close behind in Kvarud Analyse's list of Norway's 60 largest shopping centres. Both of these are also part of Thon's real estate portfolio.
Triaden achieves largest turnover increase
Another Thon centre that showed excellent performance in 2023 was Triaden in Lørenskog, which achieved the largest turnover increase (nearly 50%). The centre has undergone an extensive renovation and grown from 27,000 to 43,500 square metres.
Thon is Norway's leading shopping centre operator
The group owns and manages a total of around 90 shopping centres in Norway and Sweden.

The centre is pushing ahead with the Lagunen II project. Construction is scheduled for completion in 2025 and will result in an expansion to the centre of 15,000 square metres.
The new section will house more shops, eateries and covered parking. A wing with offices will also be built in 2026. Read more about the project on the Lagunen website.

Largest shopping centre in Norway in terms of space
In 2022, the Olav Thon Group acquired the remaining 50% of shares in Sørlandssenteret, becoming the sole owner. With 83,000 m² of retail space, this centre is Norway's largest and the largest in Scandinavia in terms of space. Read more about Sørlandssenteret.
Ten largest Thon shopping centres achieve excellent turnover numbers
Eight out of ten of the largest shopping centres in Norway are part of the Olav Thon Group. All ten of the largest shopping centres in the group achieved turnover growth in 2023:
