You’ll find an emergency room, dentists, child health clinic, physical therapists, cultural centre, library and fitness centre in Lillestrøm, as well as a petrol station and several grocery stores.
The municipality is also home to the Strømmen Storsenter, one of Norway’s largest shopping centres in terms of both turnover and number of shops.

The municipality of Lillestrøm has 23 primary schools, 13 lower secondary schools, four upper secondary schools and three special schools. The municipality also has several kindergartens, including eight in central Lillestrøm.
Public transportation
The Lillestrøm railway station has excellent train and bus connections to Oslo and the surrounding area, as well as lines to Drammen, Skien and Trondheim and other cities.
The train to the Oslo S central railway station takes only ten minutes. Lillestrøm is also the only stop for the airport train between the Oslo S railway station and Oslo Gardermoen Airport, with a travel time to the airport of 12 minutes.
