Between 1990 and 2023, the population of Jessheim grew by over 270 percent! The municipality of Ullensaker is also among the four municipalities in Norway with the largest expected population growth between now and 2050.

About Jessheim

Location

Jessheim is a city, urban area and administrative centre in the municipality of Ullensaker, located around 10 kilometres southeast of Oslo Gardermoen Airport and four miles north of Oslo.

Services

Here you will find doctor’s offices, an emergency room, library, dentists, swimming pool, fitness centres, cinema, cultural centre and shopping centre in Jessheim, as well as a petrol station and several grocery stores.

Kindergartens and schools

The municipality of Ullensaker has eleven primary schools, four lower secondary schools and one upper secondary school.

There is also a private school (primary and lower secondary school) and several kindergartens. Centrally located in the city centre are Jessheim skole, Nordby skole, Jessheim VGS and the Jessheim kindergarten.

Public transportation

There are excellent train and bus connections to Oslo and Drammen from the Jessheim railway station. The train to the Oslo S central railway station take around 35 minutes, or only 24 minutes with the express train, while buses to Oslo Gardermoen Airport take 17 minutes or 10 minutes by car.
