Thon Center Steinkjer is only a short walk from the centre of Steinkjer. The centre opened in 2009 after the Zebra Senter and Globus Storsenter were merged and expanded. In 2018, the centre underwent renovations and is now an important shopping centre in the region, with over 80 shops and food service establishments and 700 parking spaces.

The Lagunen Storsenter opened the doors to a new destination on 14 November 2018. The first construction phase offers more space for retail, food service, common areas, parking and outdoor areas.
