Thon Center Kirkenes is centrally located in the heart of Kirkenes and has both indoor and outdoor parking. The municipality’s medical centre is located on the third floor, which brings even more visitors to the centre. The centre was upgraded with new common areas in 2024.
Market and customer base
The municipality of Sør-Varanger is the centre’s primary market, with a population of around 10,000. The secondary market comprises the municipalities of Vadsø, Vardø, Tana, Nesseby, Båtsfjord and others, with a combined population of around 15,000. A number of customers also originate from northern Finland. Kirkenes has East Finnmark’s only hospital, which results in larger visitor numbers to the shopping centre.
