The centre has been named one of the three best shopping centres in the country and the municipality has one of the country’s highest retail turnover figures per capita. Finnsnes has experienced strong growth in recent years, resulting in more construction of apartments and residential complexes.
Market and customer base
Thon Center Finnsnes is a family-oriented centre for the central Troms region. The primary market comprises the municipalities of Lenvik, Sørreisa, Tranøy and parts of Målselv, while the secondary market includes the municipalities of Målselv, Bardu, Dyrøy, Salangen, Berg, Torsken, Malangshalvøya, Lavangen and parts of Ibestad. All in all, this is one of Northern Norway’s largest market areas.
Retail mix
The centre has around 40 shops, cafés and eateries, with a main focus on shops specialising in clothing, accessories, home goods and hobbies.
The Thon Center Finnsnes is only a few metres from the bus stop and high-speed ferry dock. The Gisund Bridge to Norway's second largest island, Senja, is also nearby.

The Lagunen Storsenter opened the doors to a new destination on 14 November 2018. The first construction phase offers more space for retail, food service, common areas, parking and outdoor areas.
The development project is called 'Moa 2020' and consists of five construction phases. On completion, the AMFI Moa will be one of the largest shopping centres in the country.
