The Bjørneparken Kjøpesenter is located in the centre of Flå in Hallingdal next to national road 7, the main road between Oslo and Bergen. The centre doubled its space in 2023 and has a good mix of chain stores, local niche shops and eateries. The centre is also open on Sundays and connected directly to Thon Hotel Bjørneparken.
Market and customer base
The centre has a broad and varied customer base. In addition to the residents of Flå and neighbouring municipalities, the large cabin areas in Flå and further north in Hallingdal make up a large share of the market. Bjørneparken Kjøpesenter is also very popular with international tourists on their way to Western Norway. As much as 80 percent of all traffic to Bergen goes through Flå.
Retail mix
The Bjørneparken Kjøpesenter has over 20 shops and food service establishments, so both travellers stopping along the way and those who plan to stay for a while can find everything they need. The retail mix includes a grocery shop, sports shop, state-run liquor store, hairdresser, bank and petrol station.
The centre is centrally located for all the sights in the Flå area, such as the Bjørneparken woodland zoo of the same name. Within walking distance is also the Hunting and Fishing Centre and the Turufjell and Høgevarde cabin areas are only a short drive away.
