A shopping centre with excellent turnover
Since 2008, DNB Livsforsikring AS and Olav Thon Eiendomsselskap ASA (a sub-group of the Olav Thon Group) have jointly owned and developed the Sørlandssenteret, each with 50% ownership.
The partners have now agreed that Olav Thon Eiendomsselskap ASA (OTE) will continue as the sole owner. The group has announced this in a press release.
Located 12 km northest of Kristiansand, the Sørlandssenteret is the largest shoping centre in Agder. In 2021, total tenant turnover was NOK 2.8 billion, making the Sørlandssenteret Norway's fifth largest shopping centre in terms of turnover.
Looking back on a successful partnership
"DNB Livsforsikring has embarked on an incredible journey together with Olav Thon, from the merger to the creation of the new Sørlandssenteret in 2008," says Gro K. Boge, CEO of DNB Næringseiendom.
"The centre's development has been very positive and the cooperation constructive from the very start, but the time has now come for a single owner to lead the centre into the future. DNB Livsforsikring is confident that Thon Eiendomsselskap will continue to develop the centre in the best possible way."
Dag Tangevald-Jensen, CEO of OTE, is grateful for the long-standing partnership and promises his former partner the following:
"We will do our absolute utmost to ensure that the Sørlandssenteret continues to be the best destination in the region for an unbeatable shopping experience."
The new ownership structure is scheduled to take effect in early 2023.
