The Holmen Senter is attractively located, close to both the E18 motorway and Oslofjord, in an area where commerce has been conducted since 1866. Today, the Holmen Senter has a clear profile, with several unique shops and a large health centre, making it a centre that stands out from the crowd. The building also houses a bowling alley, dance studio and Norway’s largest private library. The centre has 750 free parking spaces, as well as charging points and fast chargers for electric cars. The Holmen Senter is owned by Storebrand Eiendom, but has been managed by the Thon Group since 2021.
Market and customer base
The primary market comprises residents of Holmen and the surroundings communities, which is defined as a prioritised urban centre in the municipality of Asker. Efforts are being made to strengthen the area as an inviting meeting place and vibrant shopping centre. These include the repurposing of former commercial premises into apartments, resulting in a steadily growing customer base. The secondary market is made up of visitors from the western part of Bærum, Asker centre and residents of Røyken and Hurum.

The centre has a wide range of shops, several of which are unique to the Holmen Senter, with a strong food and drink offering. In addition, the centre has a large health centre, where the municipality also has a child health clinic and resident services.
The Holmen Senter is centrally located in an attractive residential neighbourhood close to the E18, Slemmestadveien and Oslo Fjord. The area is also home to the Grønlia nature reserve and several major sports facilities, swimming pools and swimming beaches. The centre is easily accessible from the motorway and there are bus stops near the centre with frequent connections to and from Oslo, Asker and Slemmestad. The closest railway station is the Hvalstad station.

In 2022, Thon Group shopping centres recorded turnover in the amount of around NOK 75 billion. This corresponds to an increase of around 3.3% in relation to 2021. Compared to the last normal year (2019), turnover increased by 14.9%.
