About the centre
In addition to offering a wide range of quality products, AMFI Knarvik aims to serve as a showroom and exhibition space for local cultural activities and a gathering place with a sense of social responsibility and commitment to the local community.
AMFI Knarvik is not only a shopping centre with a great mix of shops and several food service establishments, but also houses a fitness centre, library and various public service providers, including NAV (Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration), the police and services for residents of the municipality of Alver.
The centre, which opened in 1978, has a rich history and has been managed by the Thon Group since 2021. In October 2022, the centre was renovated and renamed AMFI Knarvik and we are proud to be able to offer an attractive and inviting environment for retailers and customers alike.
Market and customer base
AMFI Knarvik is centrally located in Knarvik, easily accessible from the E39 motorway, with a bus terminal a few metres away and a 25-minute drive from Bergen.
AMFI Knarvik is the market leader in Nordhordland. The primary market comprises the municipalities of Alver, Austrheim, Fedje, Masfjorden, Modalen, Gulen and the northern part of Åsane (with a total population of 52,000). The secondary market consists of Bergen and the rest of Vestland County.
Nordhordland is home to around 6,000 cabins/second homes, and Alver is the municipality with the highest number of cabins in the whole of Western Norway. The centre is a neighbourhood centre for the entire family and the preferred shopping destination for weekend and holiday shopping for cabin residents.
Retail mix
AMFI Knarvik has a good retail mix with both chain stores and niche shops with well-known brands. Some of the shops are unique and locally owned and therefore not found in other cities. The centre has a particularly good selection of fashion, home and household essentials, electronics, sports, health and wellness shops.
A few of the largest stores:
State-run liquor store, Meny, Bunnpris, Power, Apotek 1, Vitusapotek, Sport 1, Sport Outlet, Normal, Lindex, Cubus, Dressmann, Mester Grønn, Kid Interiør, iSushi og Baker Brun.
The centre is continuously updated with new shop concepts and brands.
